Ennis Davis joins Downtown Development Review Board

A certified planner, he is a project manager with Alfred Benesch & Co.

Ennis Davis, appointed by Mayor Donna Deegan to the city Downtown Development Review Board, was confirmed by City Council on Oct. 24.

An urban planner representative on the board, Davis fills a seat formerly held by William Schilling for a first full term ending June 30, 2025.

Davis received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Florida A&M University and is a certified planner.

A senior planner and project manager with Alfred Benesch & Co., Davis worked previously at Ghyabi and Associates and as director of land planning at Powers Design Architects.

He is a member of the boards of the American Planning Association Florida First Coast Section, Groundwork Jacksonville and Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.

The nine-member Downtown Development Review Board is established pursuant to Section 656.361.9, Ordinance Code. It reviews and makes decisions with respect to all applications for development and redevelopment within the Downtown Overlay Zone.
