Tulane Law grads join Smith Hulsey & Busey

Cat Gleason and Maggie McQuiddy join the firm's more than 35 attorneys.

Two new associate attorneys joined Smith Hulsey & Busey.

Cat Gleason’s practice focuses on health care, corporate, securities and business law, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

A former summer associate at the firm, she conducted due diligence, reviewed contract clauses and worked on several health care and M&A matters. Gleason also interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

A graduate of Tulane University Law School, she was editor-in-chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal in her third year.

Maggie McQuiddy

Maggie McQuiddy will advise clients in the areas of bankruptcy, labor and employment law, commercial litigation and sports litigation and counseling.

A two-time summer associate at SHB, she assisted the firm’s litigation and transactional attorneys with legal research and writing across several practice areas including commercial litigation, mergers and acquisitions, environmental law, health care and real estate.

McQuiddy also is a Tulane University Law School graduate, where she coached its Alternative Dispute Resolution Moot Court Team to win the California Sports Lawyer Negotiation Competition in 2023.

Smith Hulsey & Busey was founded in Jacksonville in 1917. The firm has more than 35 attorneys with a commercial practice that includes mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy, complex commercial litigation and health care.
