Nominations are open for The Florida Bar’s pro bono service awards.
The annual recognition program honors lawyers, law firms and associations that have contributed extraordinary pro bono service as well as judges that have served the public as it relates to pro bono legal services.
The award categories and nomination forms are available at floridabar.org and must be submitted by 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
During the 2021-22 fiscal year, Florida Bar members donated 1.5 million hours and more than $6.8 million to legal aid organizations, according to The Florida Bar.
Every year, in a ceremonial session of the state Supreme Court, more than two dozen lawyers and judges are honored by the court and The Florida Bar for the free legal assistance and pro bono advocacy they have provided.
The 2024 awards ceremony will be at the state Supreme Court at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18, 2024.
