Two Whataburgers are coming to the Westside.
Whataburger continues to work on plans to renovate a closed Applebee’s restaurant at 6251 103rd St. in West Jacksonville.
The city is reviewing civil engineering plans submitted Sept. 20 that show a 4,705-square-foot restaurant and double-drive-thru on 1.7 acres.
The review follows a JEA service availability request that showed a 76-seat, 5,000-square-foot restaurant and drive-thru.
Silver Creek Group Restaurants LLC of Manvel, Texas, is the owner and developer. Sevan Multi-Site Solutions of Downers Grove, Illinois, is the applicant.
The Applebee’s was built in 1995, property records show.
Whatburger.com shows 12 Whataburgers in Northeast Florida, including six in Jacksonville.
Whataburger also proposes to build a 66-seat restaurant at 750 Cassat Ave. at northeast Cassat and College Street.
JEA issued a service availability letter June 28 for Whataburger on just over 1 acre of the site, which is the parking area of a former retail center. It is near Lenox Avenue.
Sevan Multi-Site Solutions is the consultant. It would be a ground lease.
San Antonio-based Whataburger reports annual sales of more than $3 billion among more than 930 locations in 14 states, comprising Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, chicken strips, salads and drinks.
