Home2 Suites by Hilton appears to be coming to San Pablo Parkway, not far from Mayo Clinic in Florida.
The city is reviewing a permit application for the 125-room, five-story hotel at 3609 San Pablo Parkway, where the parkway splits with San Pablo Road South.
The proposed $17.5 million project comprises almost 76,000 square feet on 1.72 acres.
Home2 Suites offers limited-service breakfast, meeting rooms, a fitness room, pool and deck, among other amenities.
Kellogg & Kimsey Inc. of Sarasota is listed as the contractor. HC Architecture of Atlanta is shown as the architect. Prosser Inc. in Jacksonville is the civil engineer.
Atlanta-based Hotel Development Partners, through HDP Ventures LLC, is the developer.
Hotel Development Partners CEO Allen O’Brien said Sept. 24 that the group intends to begin construction this year.
Through IRE San Pablo LLC, the hotel group bought the site March 1 for $2.6 million from San Pablo Road III LLC, which is affiliated with Trevato Development Group of Jacksonville Beach.
Hotel Development Partners opened the 155-suite Residence Inn by Marriott Jacksonville near Mayo Clinic in 2021. It is managed by Concord Hospitality Enterprises.
Mayo Clinic is at 4500 San Pablo Road St.
O’Brien said HDP also is involved with the Embassy Suites planned in Glen Kernan Park at Hodges and Butler boulevards.
Four Home2 Suites are open in Northeast Florida with one coming soon to the Brooklyn area of Downtown.
The Brooklyn hotel is accepting reservations for May 22, 2024, and beyond.
The others are near Jacksonville International Airport; along Deerwood Park Boulevard near St. Johns Town Center; in Fernandina Beach; and along Interstate 95 in St. Augustine.
