Gunster shareholder Asghar Syed is the new chair of the board for Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville.
He will lead the board in fulfilling the mission of providing greater access to health through initiatives related to education, financial management and overall operations, according to the announcement from Baptist.
Syed is a litigator and adviser to businesses, including those in the health care, transportation, education and franchise sectors.
He is secretary of the Jacksonville Bar Association board of governors.
