The soon-to-close Panda House on Post Street in Jacksonville’s Riverside neighborhood could soon have a new tenant.

A sign on the restaurant building at 2700 Post St., at Post and King streets, says Tunis is coming soon.

April 30 is the last day the Chinese-themed Panda House will be open.

Panda House owners John and Polly Poon could not be reached for comment April 29.

Tunis has several Jacksonville locations that are individually owned.

The sign on the Post Street building says it will offer in-dining, carryout and a drive-thru.

The menu includes hamburgers, salads, gyros, chicken fingers, cheesesteak subs and a variety of fried seafood – crab cakes, calamari, oysters, shrimp and scallops.

Panda House has been in business for 20 years. The Poons own the building through the Poon Irrevocable Trust.

They bought the property in 1998 for $210,000. The building was constructed in 1974.

Panda House at 7643 Gate Parkway has different ownership and remains open.
