Plans in review for AutoZone in Saint Johns

The auto parts retailer plans to build at The Shoppes at RiverTown.

Plans are in review for AutoZone Auto Parts to build a store near The Shoppes at RiverTown in St. Johns County.

The 7,381-square-foot store is at Longleaf Parkway and Greenbriar Road, the permit application submitted July 24 shows.

Publix Super Markets Inc. owns the 1.2-acre site where AutoZone will operate. The Shoppes at RiverTown opened in 2021.

The store will sell new and used auto parts and accessories, the application says,

AutoZone Auto Parts plans to expand in St. Johns County at the Shoppes at RiverTown.

Nevin Engineering Services of St. Augustine is the civil engineer.

The application says the land has already been cleared and filled to grade. Site plans for the store call for 38 parking spaces.

According to its website, the St. Augustine store will be the 6,349th location and No. 438 in Florida. Founded in 1979 in Forrest City, Arkansas, it operates 6,348 stores in 50 states plus Washington, D.C., and the Virgin Islands.

The St. Johns County Development Review Committee is scheduled to review AutoZone’s application at 9 a.m. Aug. 21 at 4030 Lewis Speedway.
