Tesla has closed the showroom it opened in November 2015 at St. Johns Town Center.

The closure comes more than a year after the luxury all-electric automaker opened a service and delivery center and gallery showroom along Atlantic Boulevard in East Arlington.

The 2,058-square-foot St. Johns Town Center showroom was in an end unit next to the Apple store and in front of RH, the name of the former Restoration Hardware.

The showroom is closed, the windows darkened and signage removed. It is no longer listed on the St. Johns Town Center directory.

Tesla is based in Austin, Texas.

The automaker opened a sales, delivery and service center in the Atlantic North shopping center in spring 2023. The center is at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

The city issued permits in June-July 2022 for site work and construction of the 45,505-square-foot center at a cost of $9.3 million.

The 6.32-acre site is at 11650 Abess Blvd., near Cinemark Jacksonville Atlantic North.

Plans showed a retail showroom and lounge, 15 service bays, 10 wall-charger spaces and two Supercharger spaces.

Tesla also closed a service center at 7818 Philips Highway after opening in Atlantic North.

CNBC.com previously reported that Tesla was closing some of its showrooms in high-end shopping malls, according to a report from the Electrek.co site, which reports on the transition to electric transport.
