Tractor Supply Co. is working on its ninth Northeast Florida location.
The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application for the retailer to build a commercial retail store with parking and a stormwater management system in Callahan in Nassau County.
The applicant is HSC Callahan LLC of Daphne, Alabama. HSC is Hix Snedeker Companies, which is a Tractor Supply developer.
Jade Consulting LLC of Fairhope, Alabama, is the agent.
Plans show a proposed 21,930-square-foot Tractor Supply on 3.61 acres at U.S. 1/Florida 15, north of Brandies Avenue.
There also is a fenced outdoor display area and a permanent trailer and equipment and display area.
Nassau County property records show the land owner is Main Line Timber LLC.
The company has developed eight Northeast Florida locations.
Its tractorsupply.com site shows three stores in Jacksonville, two in St. Johns County, one in Clay, one in Baker and the first Nassau store in Yulee.
As of Dec. 30, the company, based in Brentwood, Tennessee, operated 2,216 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states
The company, founded 85 years ago, says it serves the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers, homeowners, gardeners, pet enthusiasts “and all those who enjoy living Life Out Here.”
It sells products for the home, land, pets and animals and says it is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the U.S., ranking 291 on the Fortune 500.
The company also operates 198 Petsense by Tractor Supply stores in 23 states, including two in Northeast Florida in Dunn Village in Jacksonville and in Middleburg in Clay County.
Petsense sells pet food, supplies and services.
