Breeze Airways launching service from Jacksonville to Maine, Vermont

The flights with one stop but no plane change start in May.

Breeze Airways announced Jan. 30 it will begin offering service from Jacksonville International Airport to Portland, Maine, and Burlington, Vermont, in May.

The routes are not nonstop, but what the airline calls its “BreezeThru Service,” which includes one stop but no change of planes.

Service from Jacksonville to Portland will be Mondays and Fridays starting May 24.

The flight leaves JIA at 8 a.m. and arrives at Portland International Jetport at 12:24 p.m.

Flights leaving Portland leave at 1:05 p.m. and arrive in Jacksonville at 5:36 p.m. 

Fares start at about $200 each way, according to the airline website.

Service from Jacksonville to Burlington will be Thursdays and Sundays beginning May 23.

Flights leave Jacksonville at 8 a.m. and arrive at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport at 12:07 p.m.

Fights leave Burlington at 12:52 p.m. and arrive in Jacksonville at 5:23 p.m. 

Fares start at $79 each way, according to the website.

“By utilizing BreezeThru routes, Northeast Florida travelers now have an affordable and convenient way to access both Portland and Burlington,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Mark VanLoh said in a news release. 

“As Breeze continues to grow at JAX, it means more access for our local community to destinations where they want to travel.”  

Breeze, a low-cost carrier, began flying out of Jacksonville on May 19, 2022.

“As we continue to expand service, we hope Guests are enjoying the affordability and added convenience Breeze is bringing to the community,” said Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey.

Breeze has been expanding service in Jacksonville.

The airline said it will begin nonstop service from Jacksonville to San Diego starting May 1.

The flights from Jacksonville to San Diego International Airport will be Wednesdays and Saturdays.

According to its website, with the additions, Breeze offers service from Jacksonville to 14 destinations. Some service is seasonal.
