The Daily Record sked architecture firms working in Northeast Florida to share the designs of some of their projects in progress. Here is a look at what is in store.

The project: The project features an organic open-air canopy covering 25,000 square feet and extending 50 feet high. It provides rain- and sun-protected exterior areas at the zoo for the daily guests as well as during special events.

The project:  The new two-story, 17,600-square-foot Athletic Training Center will provide training spaces for student athletes with views of the St. Johns River, including new wrestling facilities, locker rooms, athletic trainer space and spirit shop.

San Marco Adaptive Reuse

The project: The adaptive reuse project will transform four single-story masonry buildings at into a mixed-use campus for retail and restaurant tenants. With 70 years of history, these buildings will be renovated to ensure they remain a community destination. It includes the former Reddi-Arts property.

The project: Transit-oriented town home community in historic Downtown LaVilla. Inspired by the neighborhood’s history and historical architecture, the three-story, shotgun town homes will feature gabled roofs and stucco exteriors.

The project: Construction recently began on Gavin Point Apartments, a 105-unit, rent-assisted, attainable housing community featuring amenities including fitness, resident clubroom, exterior picnic area and dog park.

The project: REVA Development Corp. intends to transform the 70,000-square-foot historic National Guard Armory built in 1915 into a cultural arts center with amenities such as a food hall, microbrewery, coworking spaces, art studios and two performance stages.
