Parker’s Kitchen, a Savannah, Georgia-based gas station and convenience store chain known for its Southern comfort food, is planning a location in Wildlight, the master-planned community in Nassau County.

The proposed site would be its third store in Northeast Florida.

The company is also planning a North Jacksonville site at Faye Road and Alta Drive, as well as a Westside location at northeast Wilson Boulevard and Middleburg Road. Those locations were announced in July.

The proposed site in Yulee is at William Burgess Boulevard off Florida 200.

Site plans show a 5,175-square-foot convenience store, eight gas pumps with 16 fueling stations and 35 parking spaces. Jacksonville-based Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.

Representatives from the 80-location chain are scheduled to meet with the Nassau County Development Review Committee to discuss the project at 9 a.m. June 4 at the James S. Page Governmental Complex at 96135 Nassau Place in Yulee.

The ParkersKitchen.com menu shows biscuits baked daily on-site, catfish, grits, sausage patties and gravy, chicken tenders, pork chops, pulled pork sandwiches, fried okra, breakfast burritos, lemonade and “Signature Chewy Ice.”

According to its website, Parker’s Kitchen aims to “redefine foodservice and convenience, offering freshly prepared Southern-inspired food, high-quality products, and superior customer service” at retail stores throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina.

Founder and CEO Greg Parker opened the first store in Midway, Georgia, in 1976. In June, Parker’s Kitchen announced an expansion into Augusta, Georgia. That store opened May 24 at Mike Padgett Highway and Tobacco Road.

A news release said the new Parker’s Kitchen will offer grab-and-go options, a hot bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and electronic kiosk ordering. Highlights will include never-frozen, antibiotic-free, double-breaded Southern fried chicken tenders, signature mac ‘n’ cheese and potato logs, freshly made salads, gourmet coffee, freshly brewed sweet tea, Fancy Lemonade, 28-degree beer, fountain drinks with Chewy Ice and a range of convenience items.
