Gov. Ron DeSantis reappointed a Jacksonville attorney to the Jacksonville Port Authority board of directors and appointed another local lawyer to a first term.

Dan Bean, counsel at Smith Gambrell & Russell and CEO of K9s for Warriors, was appointed to the board by DeSantis in 2023. He is currently board chair.

Bean also is treasurer for Five Star Veterans Center, vice chair of the Florida College Prepaid Foundation and president of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Association, which operates the USS Orleck warship museum on the Downtown Northbank.

Patrick Kilbane, appointed for his first term, is a partner, general counsel and wealth adviser at Ullmann Wealth Partners Group.

He currently is a commissioner for the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and previously served as chair of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority board of directors.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
