St. Johns County reviewing civil engineering plans for Panera Bread in Beachwalk

The bakery-cafe is proposing a 3,220-square-foot store with a drive-thru in the master-planned community.

Panera Bread is planning a bakery-cafe in the St. Johns County master-planned Beachwalk community.

It would be the chain’s fifth location in St. Johns County. 

The site is along County Road 210 east of Interstate 95.

A Panera Bread with a drive-thru is planned in Beachwalk, a master-planned community in St. Johns County.

St. Johns County is reviewing civil engineering plans for the restaurant filed June 6 by civil engineering firm Prosser Inc.

BDG Architects is the architect.

Beachwalk Center LLC of Boca Raton is the property owner.

Build-out for a 3,220-square-foot store with a drive-through will require a separate permit. The estimated project cost is $1.2 million.

Site plans show 40 parking spaces. 

The bakery-cafe will join other recently opened Beachwalk-area restaurant chains including, Zaxby’s, Culver’s, Dunkin’ and Jacksonville-based Grumpy’s.

Panera has been opening stand-alone restaurants with drive-thrus as it leaves its in-line locations in strip shopping centers. 

There are at least 17 Panera Bread locations in Northeast Florida.
