The renovation is part of Walmart’s plan to build or convert 150 stores across the country during the next five years, a news release said.

Walmart celebrated the remodeling with a ribbon-cutting June 14.

The renovation included new signage, fixtures, LED lighting and flooring throughout the store; a refreshed interior, including paint and signage; expanded online pickup delivery areas; expanded bakery and deli areas; grab-and-go coolers and expanded checkout options; expanded grocery options; and an expanded and updated pharmacy, the release said.

The store also features a community-inspired mural by artist Daniel Smith. The mural is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, the largest public-facing art installation celebrating communities across America.

“From the new parking lot to the upgraded apparel section and expanded seasonal offerings, the upgrades made to this store provide a more efficient shopping experience for our customers and offer them many more choices when it comes to items they are looking for,” Walmart Manager Jermaine Taylor said in the release.

The Daily Record reported in January that FMGI Inc. of Woodstock, Georgia, is the contractor for the almost $3.26 million project.

The city issued a permit Jan. 23 for the work, described as an interior remodel of the 204,424-square-foot store with minor exterior work, including some roof areas for power units.

Plans indicated most inside areas would be remodeled, including the sales floor, customer restrooms, customer checkout, the pharmacy, vision center, garden center, grocery area and online pickup

The architect is Harrison French & Associates Ltd. of Bentonville, Arkansas, where Walmart is based.

Walmart Stores East LP paid $8.75 million for the property in 2005 and developed the building in 2008.
