Court clerks offer annual Operation Green Light

The opportunity for people with past due fines and fees to catch up and qualify for restoration of their driving privileges is in April.

Operation Green Light, the annual opportunity for people with past due fines and fees to catch up and qualify for restoration of their driving privileges, is coming in April.

At the event, county clerks of court work with people to lower or waive fees so they can pay back their outstanding court obligations and have their driver’s license reinstated.

Here are Operation Green Light schedules:

Clay County: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 8-12 and April 15-19 at the Clay County Courthouse; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 8-11 and April 15-18 and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. April 12 and April 19 at the Clay County Clerk Orange Park Branch Office.

• Duval County: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 8-10 and April 12; 8 a.m.-7 p.m. April 11 at the Duval County Courthouse.

Nassau County: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 8-12 at the Nassau County Courthouse.

The 301 Operation Green Light events held in the state since October 2019 have resulted in:

• More than 56,000 driver’s licenses either reinstated or made eligible for reinstatement.

• More than 65,000 cases paid in full.

• More than 85,000 cases placed on a payment plan.

• More than $14.8 million in total collected revenue, including nearly $5.8 million distributed to the state, more than $3.7 million distributed to local governments and more than $5.3 million retained by clerks of court.
