Komma Tea & Natural Homemade Desserts, a Sunrise-based company with eight locations in six states, intends to open in St. Johns Town Center.

The company has Florida locations in Sunrise and Pembroke Pines. Its kommatea.com site says locations are coming soon to Jacksonville and Altamonte Springs in Florida;  Augusta, Georgia; and Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to Florida, it now has locations in Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Komma Tea’s menu includes milk teas, refreshers and freshly baked macarons in 12 flavors. The macarons are also called “Kommacaron.”

The city is reviewing a permit application for Komma Tea to build-out at 10281 Midtown Parkway at an estimated project cost of $189,000. Komma would lease a 1,269-square-foot space for the takeout store.

No specific store unit address was included, but the general street number is the strip of stores anchored by P.F. Chang’s, Sephora and Kay Jewelers.
