Jay Demetree appointed to UNF board of trustees

The president and CEO of Demetree Brothers Inc., a developer and manager of commercial and residential real estate, replaces Tom Bryan, whose term expired.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Jay Demetree to the University of North Florida board of trustees.

He replaces Tom Bryan, whose term expired Jan. 6.

DeSantis announced the appointment March 28. 

Demetree is president and CEO of Demetree Brothers Inc., a developer and manager of commercial and residential real estate established in Jacksonville in 1947.

He is a member of the Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute board of advisors, the St. Vincent’s Hospital Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House advisory board.

Demetree received a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The appointment is subject to state Senate confirmation.
