Lawsikia Hodges joined Smith, Gambrell & Russell as counsel in the Jacksonville office and a member of the firm’s real estate group.

She also will lead the Jacksonville governmental affairs practice.

Hodges was deputy general counsel of the city of Jacksonville Government Operations Department, where she provided operations and transactional counsel to the mayor’s office, City Council, executive branch department directors and chiefs, constitutional officers and independent authorities.

She was lead counsel to independent authorities, boards and commissions including the Jacksonville Port Authority, JEA, Jacksonville Housing Authority, Jacksonville Housing Finance Authority, Police and Fire Pension board of trustees, Research Development Authority, Downtown Investment Authority, Tourist Development Council, Public Service Grant Council, Kids Hope Alliance and Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission.

Hodges is a Florida Bar board certified specialist in city, county and local government law and vice chair of The Florida Bar City, County and Local Government Certification Committee.
