Ribbon-cutting for new hotel in Downtown Brooklyn area

The Home2 Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Downtown has 100 rooms including 10 one-bedroom suites.

The Home2 Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Downtown had its ribbon-cutting May 7. It opened April 5.

The 100-room hotel at 600 Park St. in Brooklyn. is owned by Corner Lot and Kelco Management and Development Inc. 

Corner Lot and Kelco partnered as Kelco CL Park LLC for the project.

The hotel has 10 one-bedroom suites, 10 two-bed studio rooms and 80 single rooms.

The suites features modular furniture, complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a 24- hour fitness center with Peloton cycle and Hydrow rowing machines. There is a self-service laundry room and Home2 market for grab-and-go items. It has a patio and fire pit with two gas grills.

The parking lot has vehicle six charging stations.

The hotel has about 30 employees.

The hotel did well during the recent two-night Luke Combs EverBank Stadium shows and expects to be busy George Strait plays the stadium on May 11, said Ashley Schneider, vice president of operations for Kelco.
