Paraplegic hand-bicyclist Don Worley began a 1,061-mile journey from Jacksonville to Chicago Tuesday morning in front of City Hall. Bid farewell by Mayor John Peyton and other officials and supporters, the goal of his ride is to raise awareness of underage drunk driving and veteran’s issues. Worley served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and was paralyzed from the waist down in an automobile accident caused by a 17-year-old driver who was under the influence of alcohol. The project is called “The Impossible Dream – Just Go for It Tour.” At the end of Worley’s 27-day journey, he is scheduled to meet Oprah Winfrey in Chicago.
