Hulsey honored for lifetime law achievement

Mark Hulsey of Smith Hulsey & Busey was presented with the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award by The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society Jan. 28. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes outstanding Society members for service to the organization and to the legal profession.

Hulsey was presented with the award by President Edith Osman during the Society’s 2010 Annual Dinner in Tallahassee. The event was attended by 350 Society members, Justices of the Florida Supreme Court, other members of the judiciary, the president and president-elect of The Florida Bar, members of The Florida Bar Board of Governors, state government leaders, educators and other guests.

Hulsey is a former president of both the Jacksonville Bar Association and The Florida Bar, and received The Florida Bar Foundation’s Medal of Honor. He played a leading role in passing the constitutional amendment that led to the creation of Florida’s Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC). Hulsey chaired the JQC for 12 years, and later served as special counsel for the JQC.
