How did you become involved? After moving back to Jacksonville after taking the Bar exam, I was blessed to have mentors who assisted me in finding organizations to volunteer my time.
How can someone else become involved? Contact Kathy Para to assist with JALA.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience? I was taught that it's one's moral and professional responsibility to give back to their community. No man or woman is an island. We sometimes take for granted the community that we live in. What better way is there to connect with your community and give back? As a volunteer, you certainly return to society some of the benefits that society gives you.
