Community involvement: I am a director of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation. My dad started the Jay Fund when I was 19 years old to provide financial assistance to families battling childhood cancer. It was inspired by Jay McGillis, who played football at Boston College when my dad, Tom, was head coach. McGillis died from leukemia at age 21. The Jay Fund remains based here in Northeast Florida and provides assistance to families in Florida, Georgia, New York and New Jersey.
How did you become involved?
After volunteering in many ways over the years, I was asked to serve on the foundation's board of directors in 2011. My parents, brother and sisters and wife all participate in the success of Jay Fund. My sister, Keli, is the executive director.
