Chipping in for charity and JBA softball league
Last year, after a five-year hiatus caused by the economy, the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of The Jacksonville Bar Association brought back the annual "Tee It Up" for charity golf tournament, which was a resounding success that raised more than $15,000 for a local Jacksonville charity.
The YLS is continuing the momentum and is holding this year's tournament on Oct. 17 at the prestigious Ponte Vedra Inn & Club – Ocean Course.
The format will be Captain's Choice with prizes for first-, second- and third-place foursomes. Prizes will also be awarded for longest drive and closest-to-pin.
The proceeds raised from the golf tournament will benefit Girls Inc. Jacksonville, a tremendous local charity described below.
Approximately 30 area law firms, legal vendors and businesses have already signed up as sponsors to help continue the success of this event and foster a positive outreach to the area community.
They include Akerman; Alexander, DeGance and Barnett; Bedell; Brennan Manna and Diamond; Dawson Orr; Dearing Law Firm; Driver McAfee; Edwards Ragatz; Ferrelle Burns; Fidelity; Gray Robinson; Holland & Knight; Jacksonville Bank; Liles Gavin; Marks Gray; Milam Howard; Milton Leach; Mosely Prichard; Murphy Anderson; Pajcic and Pajcic; Picterra Solutions; Rick Block Law; RICOH USA, Rogers Towers; Smith Gambrell and Russell; Spohrer & Dodd; Stutsman Thames & Markey; Tanner Bishop; and Tom Bush BMW.
Opportunities to sponsor and participate in the event are still available, but are going fast. Committing to be a sponsor at the "Tee It Up" for charity golf tournament is an opportunity for you and your company to get wonderful exposure to the legal and business community in a fun and festive environment. Lawyers, judges, and other legal industry service providers will all be there.
But it is more than a marketing opportunity. It is the chance to contribute to a worthy organization that makes a difference in girls' lives in the Jacksonville community every day.
In addition to great golf, a complimentary lunch will be available to players at check-in, as well as complimentary range balls and cold beverages during play.
An awards ceremony and reception will be provided for volunteers and participants at the end of the tournament as we celebrate the winning teams and enjoy more complimentary drinks and a variety of tapas.
