Brown raised a total of $330,635 last month, $305,800 of which came from a state political action committee, according to recently filed financial reports. The almost $25,000 difference came from his local account.
To date, Brown has raised $1.1 million through both accounts.
The state committee total dwarfed its previous high of $148,000 raised in February. The highest contributions came from Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan and EverBank Financial Corp., both of which gave $50,000 for the month. Khan also donated $50,000 in February.
Fidelity National Financial and its board chair, Bill Foley, were next highest contributing $25,000 each. Vans Sherrod contributed $15,000, while Web.com CEO David Brown, Advanced Disposal and Florida Blue were among those who donated $10,000.
At the local level, the $24,835 Brown raised in April is consistent with what he’s garnered the past couple of months.
City Council member Bill Bishop raised just more than $18,000 in his first campaign report since announcing in early April.
Other potential candidates — including Lenny Curry, Bill Gulliford and Jim Bailey (publisher of the Daily Record) — have not filed.
Mayor Alvin Brown in April had his strongest show of financial support since he started his campaign for a second term last year.
