Mayor John Delaney (left) made a special presentation Thursday to Sylvia Myers (second from left) for her decades-long dedication to the library system. The 96-year-old Myers, who has been volunteering at libraries for the past 83 years, most of which was in Jacksonville, was named the City’s “Volunteer of the Quarter.” She has read thousands of books and has compiled a recommended list, which she sells for $10. She was joined Thursday by her sons Walter Green (center) and Raymond Green and Carol Brown of the downtown library.
