Airlines are resuming flights Thursday at Jacksonville International Airport as Hurricane Dorian moves north.

Travelers should confirm their flight status before arriving at the airport, JIA said in a statement.

The Federal Aviation Administration said via Twitter that Dorian could impact traffic at East Coast airports as the storm moves northward.

Dorian regained strength Wednesday night and the National Hurricane Center upgraded it to a Category 3 hurricane. At 9 a.m. Thursday, the storm was about 70 miles southeast of Charleston, North Carolina, with winds of 39 mph and gusts of 63 mph, according to a NHC report.
