Aldi set to build in North Jacksonville

The city issued a permit Monday for the discount grocer in Parkway Shops.

The city issued a permit Monday for Aldi to build a grocery store in the Parkway Shops in North Jacksonville.

Schmid Construction Inc. of Clermont is the contractor for the almost 23,000-square-foot discount grocer at a cost of $1.8 million at 15324 Max Leggett Parkway, Building 200.

The store will be built next to Hobby Lobby.

It is the 11th site open or proposed in Northeast Florida for the Germany-based discount chain. 

Ramco-Gershenson Inc. is the developer of Parkway Shops and the adjacent River City Marketplace.
