One of the oldest national African–American groups in the country will continue a 72-year tradition this week at the Adams Mark.

The American Bridge Association was formed in 1932 to provide blacks with the means to congregate and play cards away from segregated society. Today their membership numbers more than 5,000 with about 2,000 members headed to Jacksonville to play in the ABA’s National Tournament.

In additon to bringing some of the best players in the world together, the tournament raises money for youth programs and scholarships. Come out and play or observe starting today at 9 a.m. and running through Saturday’s championship round.
