A developer is proposing Tapestry Westland Village, a 266-unit apartment community in West Jacksonville.

Arlington Properties of Birmingham, Alabama, submitted its site plans to the city for review Nov. 12.

The multifamily community would be on 26 acres of vacant land at Collins Road and Plantation Bay Drive near Interstate 295.

The property is near several apartments, including Vintage at Plantation Bay, Westland Park Apartments and The Kensley Apartment Homes. Westland Oaks, a single-family residential community, is north of the property.

Plans show 12 buildings comprising 24 studio, 76 one-bedroom, 136 two-bedroom and 30 three-bedroom units. Amenities include a pool, dog park, clubhouse, and outdoor area and ponds, according to the plans.

The developer did not return calls Tuesday seeking comment.

The company's website lists three Jacksonville apartment communities under recent projects: The Hawthorne with 239 units; Canopy at Belfort Park with 192 units; and Tattersall at Tapestry Park with 279 units.

The project engineering firm is Connelly & Wicker Inc. of Jacksonville.
