Bankruptcy attorney Lansing Roy dies at 78

Memorial service is Saturday in St. Augustine.

Lansing Roy, 78, founder of the bankruptcy law firm Lansing Roy PA, died Monday.

He was a fixture of the Northeast Florida legal community who devoted his nearly 50-year career to bankruptcy law representing debtors. He was a trustee, former president and board member of the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association.

The funeral service is 9 a.m. Saturday at San Sebastian Catholic Church, 1112 Florida 16 in St. Augustine. The viewing is 5:30 p.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway in St. Augustine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Promise to Kate, an organization established to fund research for myotonic dystrophy, a form of muscular dystrophy.
