Kyle Jacobs

Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP

The YLS Chili Cook-Off. This year’s event had a big turnout for a great cause, but Smith, Gambrell & Russell was denied its rightful spiciest chili award by the inedible (and therefore ineligible) chili from Florida Coastal. This year also proved that David Rottman of Coker Schickel is the one true chili king in the Jacksonville legal community.

My favorite JBA event is the YLS charity Chili Cook-Off because it brings both the legal and non-legal community together and benefits a great local charity.

Bedell, Dittmar, DeVault, Pillans & Coxe, P.A.

The Bench and Bar Holiday Party is my all-time favorite JBA event. It’s the one event where the legal community gathers to reminisce with each other, celebrate the end of a year of hard work, and wish each other well, with good company, food and drinks.

Jennifer Shoaf Richardson

Boyd & Jenerette, P.A.

My favorite JBA events are the dinners with the visiting judges of the 1st District Court of Appeal, hosted by the JBA Appellate Committee. There is no better way to get to know the judiciary and fellow practitioners than to break bread together in such an intimate setting. I believe this tradition is unique to Jacksonville and it is a great service to membership.
