The state Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission is seeking applicants to fill three positions on the Supreme Court.

The vacancies will follow the mandatory retirement of Justices Barbara Pariente, R. Fred Lewis and Peggy Quince.

The new justices will be appointed by the governor.

Based on the court’s current composition, one seat must be filled by a qualified applicant who resides in the 3rd Appellate District (Dade and Monroe counties in South Florida). The other two seats are at-large.

Applicants must submit an original application, an electronic copy of the original application in pdf format and an electronic redacted copy of the original application, which excludes all material that is exempt or confidential under applicable public records laws.

The original signed, unredacted paper application must be received no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 8 by JNC Chair Jason Unger at GrayRobinson in Tallahassee.

Applications and more information may be obtained from https://www.floridabar.org/directories/jnc/applications/.

Potential justices selected for an interview will be notified by e-mail.
