Jacksonville City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday to make up for the meeting canceled Tuesday because of Hurricane Irma, council President Anna Lopez Brosche said in an email to city employees.

Brosche also has shifted some committee meetings.

On Tuesday, the Land Use and Zoning Committee will meet as originally scheduled at 5 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Neighborhoods, Community Services, Public Health and Safety Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. and the Transportation, Energy and Utilities Committee at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, the Finance Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m.  and the Rules Committee at 2 p.m.

The disruption caused by the hurricane comes during one of the most important months of the year for the council.

The 2017-18 city budget is in the last few weeks of council review and must be approved by Sept. 30.

A Sept. 26 council meeting will be the last time, outside of a special meeting, for the full 19-member body to review and amend the legislation.

The new fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
