Community Connections of Jacksonville Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end homelessness and poverty, has hired Philip L. Green as chief development officer.

He joins the organization from the University of North Florida, where he was the founding state director of The Employ Florida Banner Center for Creative Industries.

As the chairman of UNF's 2012 United Way campaign, Green more than doubled the number of participants and contributions. He serves as the state membership co-chairman of Leadership Florida and is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville and Leadership St. Johns.

"I have always been impressed specifically with CCJ's fundamental ability to lead the nonprofit industry in service and innovation. I am looking forward to collaborating with the talented CCJ team to focus on delivering the highest level of service, empowerment and support to our families in need," Green said.

"Philip's leadership skills and strong reputation in our community and our state will be an invaluable addition to our team. Philip's expertise further strengthens our nonprofit leadership and adds innovative areas of development expertise allowing us to grow our organization and help more women, children and families become self-sufficient. On behalf of the entire CCJ team, I am thrilled to welcome Philip to his new role," said Lelia Duncan, president and CEO of Community Connections.
