Cummer fountain replaced

Boasting conglomerate pink Verona marble from the riverbeds of Italy, the 12-foot fountain which had graced the gardens outside the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. The Late Bloomers Garden Club started a campaign last year to restore the 3,000 pound fountain to its earlier grandeur. Because the studio which produced the fountain in 1930 was no longer in existence, Marble Studio Stagetti di Nicola Stagetti sculpted an exact replica. It was recently installed on the Cummer grounds.
