Jacksonville architectural, planning and landscape design firm Ervin, Lovett and Miller has been awarded a contract for master planning and community design in St. Johns County.
Steve Lovett, partner in the firm, said Davidson Development Inc., the developer of World Golf Village, is planning the next phase of development at a 500-acre parcel that fronts on Six Mile Creek and S.R. 13.
Lovett said the firm is developing a conceptual community master plan now, along with community master plans and golf alternatives.
“We are working in collaboration with Arnold Palmer Golf Course Design Group of Ponte Vedra,” Lovett said. “We are exploring ideas for conventional golf facilities as well as some innovative alternatives, such as a modified 12-hole course,” he added.
The firm expects to complete a planning study shortly that will identify the best options to pursue. The target market, Lovett said, is families. “If you look at the growth trends in St. Johns County, with its quality of life, school and communities, it’s clear that the market is families,” Lovett said. “We are creating a family oriented community, with family oriented golf facilities.
