Development notes: Holiday Inn Express plans; Gateway Village outparcel

Permit issued for San Marco Crossing.

The St. Johns -River Water Management District is reviewing plans for the Holiday Inn Express at Gateway to Amelia in Fernandina Beach.

The developer is FGC Inc. of Fernandina Beach and the owner is listed as Kapil Bava, whose address is the Country Inn & Suites at 7035 Commonwealth Ave. in Jacksonville.

The 96-room, four-story Holiday Inn Express is planned on 2.32 acre at 960108 Gateway Blvd. Plans show a pool.

Alliant Engineering Inc. is the agent. Bava said the anticipated opening is early 2020.

• St. Johns County issued a permit Nov. 13 for the 50-room Holiday Inn Express Vilano on about an acre at 140 Vilano Road in St. Augustine Road. The three-story, 34,188-square-foot building is shown at a construction cost of $5.23 million.

Development notes

• The city is reviewing plans for a 1.51-acre outparcel at Gateway Village at Town Center to accommodate a 9,000-square-foot building. As reported previously, developers of Gateway Village at Town Center bought an outparcel at the property to build a 9,000-square-foot commercial building. Jacksonville Gateway Village LLC, led by Chris Morgan and Jim Loftin, paid almost $1.14 million for the 1.51-acre Outparcel 2 at the property at Deerwood Park Boulevard and Gate Parkway. Gateway Village includes the Satori apartments, a RaceTrac gas station and convenience store and two multitenant retail buildings. 

• The St. Johns River Water Management District issued a permit to Chance Olevia LLC to develop San Marco Crossing on 8.9 acres.
