The Florida Justice Association/Jacksonville Justice Association recently held its holiday reception at the Grotto. The highlight was the presentation of The “Spartans at Thermopylae” award to Tom Edwards of Edwards & Ragatz.

More than 60 attorneys turned out for the Florida Justice Association’s reception that also served as a benefit for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid.

On behalf of Northeast Florida trial lawyers, Howard Coker presented Edwards the “Spartans at Thermopylae” award for his extraordinary commitment, leadership and perseverance in preserving the civil justice system.

“Tom has shown amazing determination and an unwavering dedication to serving Florida’s consumers and the organization. He has been our most deserving recipient of this award to date,” said Coker.

During the legislative sessions, Edwards volunteers much of his time traveling to Tallahassee to lobby for key legislation that protects the rights and safety of Florida’s citizens. He will continue serving Florida consumers in this role as a member of the FJA’s board of directors.

The event raised $3,350 for JALA.
