The Durden family will gather again Thursday to celebrate the unveiling of the portrait of former Circuit Court Judge William Durden Jr. (seated). The ceremony will take place in Courtroom 4 of the Duval County Courthouse. Durden stepped down from the bench in 1968 to help establish consolidated government in Jacksonville. He was the consolidated government’s first general counsel. Among the Durden family who will be there include (from left) Alison Henderson, Will Durden, Collins Cooper, Brenna Durden, Stephen Durden, Circuit Court Judge Mallory Cooper and Bill Cooper.
