Florida Theatre to host Winter Movie Classics

The Florida Theatre plans to debut its new Winter Movie Classics series Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The films will be shown every other Monday through March 25.

Here’s the schedule:

Jan. 14: “Casablanca,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

Jan. 28: “Some Like It Hot,” starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. Directed by Billy Wilder, the film ranks No. 1 on the American Film Industry’s list of funniest American movies.

Feb. 11: “The Wizard of Oz,” starring Judy Garland.

Feb. 25: “North by Northwest,” starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

March 11: “Singin’ In The Rain,” starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, Debbie Reynolds and Jean Hagen.

March 25: “Caddyshack,” starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield.
