Another Jacksonville Applebee’s restaurant is in line for a renovation to the “community” interior design already completed at the Lane Avenue and 103rd Street locations.

The St. Johns Town Center Applebee’s will close for construction Sunday and reopen at 11 a.m. Feb. 27.

A VIP ribbon-cutting Feb. 26 will benefit The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.

Hughes Brothers Construction of Alabama LLC is the contractor for the interior and exterior renovations for the Applebee’s at 4507 Town Center Parkway at a project cost of $146,431.

The 4,754-square-foot restaurant can accommodate up to 213 guests. In addition to 13 TVs throughout the restaurant, there will be a 60-inch TV screen in the bar area.

Doherty Enterprises Inc. intends to introduce the “community” design in 38 Applebee’s restaurants in North Florida and Georgia over the next 15 months.

The community theme focuses on education, nonprofit organizations and first responders, featuring photos from local high schools and university, professional and college sports teams and community groups.

The Town Center Applebee’s will feature organizations that include Englewood High School, Episcopal School of Jacksonville, Harvest Community School and Sandalwood High School.

Hughes Brothers also handled the first two renovations.
