When word got out the law firm of Coffman, Coleman, Andrews & Grogan was in the process of dissolving, one local firm was ready to take advantage of the available talent pool.
July 1, Eric Holshouser, Tim Strong and Heather Gwinn, formerly attorneys with the labor and employment law firm Coffman, Coleman, Andrews & Grogan, joined the Jacksonville office of Fowler White Boggs Banker. Three other former Coffman Coleman partners — Bob Riegel,
Jeff Watson and Melissa Dearing — joined Fowler White last October, meaning a majority of Coffman Coleman’s former attorneys from last year are now with Fowler White’s Jacksonville office.
“Tim, Heather and I chose Fowler White out of several attractive opportunities based not only on the practice group strength and synergies resulting from working again with our former colleagues, but to enhance the level of service to our valuable clients through the experience and expertise of Fowler White lawyers located both in the Jacksonville office and other offices throughout the State of Florida,” said Holshouser. “Indeed, I have known several of Fowler White’s Tampa-based labor and employment lawyers for many years and have always been impressed with the strength of that group.”
Strong said, “I was also attracted to an opportunity to work with the depth of experience in labor and employment law at Fowler White. Including Mike Dewberry and Mark Addington with the six former Coffman Coleman attorneys, Fowler White’s labor and employment group has more than 140 years of collective experience in the Jacksonville office alone.”
Fowler White hiring partner Tom Dearing said that bringing Holshouser, Strong and Dearing on board was consistent with Fowler White’s strategic plan to grow the Jacksonville office and to expand the firm’s capabilities in certain key practice areas, one of which is labor and employment. The firm also recently added new senior attorneys to its corporate and commercial real estate practices in Jacksonville.
“Our new lawyers here, including those who came last October, have hit the ground running, and the transition has been very smooth,” said Dearing.
