Southeastern Guide Dogs Angel (left) and Troy (right, partially in view) were introduced at the Meninak Club of Jacksonville on Monday with Lt. Col. Kathy Champion, who received Angel after losing vision in both eyes, and Southeastern Guide Dog Community Outreach Coordinator Helen Arnold. Arnold has been blind since birth and Troy is her eighth guide dog. Southeastern Guide Dogs, based in Palmetto, is a nonprofit that provides guide dogs to people with visual impairments. The nonprofit’s school has provided guide dogs for 28 years and there are more than 700 active guide dog partnerships.
