Jacksonville native and Lee High School graduate Doug Hooker

Jacksonville native and Lee High School graduate Doug Hooker, and his wife, Britta, now of Orlando, stopped to visit some friends Thursday on their way north on their boat, Bella Bri. The 151-foot ship has a 31-foot beam and 7-foot draw, and it was docked near the Hyatt as Hooker welcomed friends, including Carter Bryan. The boat took over three years to build and is equipped with its own sewage treatment system and two water-making machines, which can produce 100 gallons an hour. Hooker and a crew of eight are on their way to New York City for the Fourth of July celebration.
