Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has picked up an oceanfront house in Jacksonville Beach for $1.5 million.
The second-year quarterback purchased the 2,500-square-foot home from David A. Brown, according to a deed filed Wednesday.
The two-story 1995 home was recently remodeled and features an open porch facing the beach, two outdoor showers and a walk-in temperature controlled wine room.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty represented the seller in the transaction.
A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Bortles led the Knights to a Conference USA East Division Championship and bowl victory. In 2013, he led the team to a win the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship.
In 2014, Bortles was the Jaguars’ No. 1 pick, going third overall in the draft.
Following a disappointing season for the team, ESPN gave Bortles the lowest ranking of any rookie starting quarterback in the NFL, though the sports network praised his toughness.
Bortles is under a four-year contract with the Jaguars.
