The Jacksonville Transportation Authority said Monday it will suspend all transit services at 1 p.m. Tuesday in advance of potential impacts of Hurricane Dorian.

This includes all fixed-routes, First Coast Flyer BRT lines and the Skyway.

Starting Tuesday, JTA’s paratransit service Connexion will perform only life-sustaining and evacuation trips. Customers with special needs must register with the city of Jacksonville at (904) 630-CITY to access transportation to a special needs shelter.

Evacuation shuttles stationed at Jacksonville Beach Elementary, Mayport Middle School and Fletcher High School will remain active until 8 p.m. today.

Shuttles will resume service at those locations at 9 a.m. Tuesday, and run as long as conditions are safe to do so.

The St. Johns River Ferry was relocated from Mayport Village and will remain closed until further notice.

The JTA anticipates resuming normal transit operations Thursday morning, weather permitting. An exact time will be determined Wednesday.
