The investiture for Duval County Judge Scott Mitchell was held Thursday at the Duval County Courthouse, and his wife, Amy, and mother, Elizabeth, helped him put on his robe. Gov. Rick Scott appointed Mitchell to the bench Jan. 26 to fill an opening created by Judge Tyrie Boyer’s appointment to the Circuit Court bench. It was the first investiture at the new Duval County Courthouse, which opened June 18.
